About Visser Brothers
On April 1, 1960, Visser Brothers, Inc. was incorporated by the three Visser brothers, Dale, Bruce, and Jack, who continue to manage the operations of the company, today, as they have every day for the past FortyFive Years. With such consistency of ownership and management, Visser Brothers has built a solid reputation in West Michigan as a General Contractor of the First Class.
Visser Brothers’ broad areas of expertise span from industrial parks to medical complexes, encompassing a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects ranging in size from Ten Thousand Dollars to
Thirty Million.
The seemingly diverse characteristics that make Visser Brothers unique are precisely what make us strong: Consistency and Diversity.
Consistency
Because Visser Brothers has operated successfully for over three decades under the same ownership and management, project owners, material suppliers, sub-contractors, and bonding agencies have come to expect Quality Workmanship, Timely Completion, Efficient Scheduling, Prompt Payment, and Unquestioned Fulfillment of Contract Obligations.
Fair and consistent business dealings have fostered long-standing relationships that give Visser Brothers a competitive advantage in saving project owners both time and money. Suppliers and sub-contractors know they will be paid promptly for work done, and are eager to respond to our requests for quotes and service. In turn, owners can occupy their buildings sooner, and for less cost with Visser Brothers. Visser Brothers’ record of honoring contracts is so strong that we enjoy unlimited bonding capacity, and are quoted bonds at the lowest rates in the market today. In the bidding phase of a project, Visser Brothers is able to capitalize on these relationships and offer owners an additional, low cost, quality alternative - again saving you both time and money.
Visser Brothers’ consistency is embodied in its work force. While Visser Brothers continually seeks new, talented employees, we pride ourselves in providing consistent employment for our current work force.
The Average length of service for our employees is Eight and One Third Years (including 13 new employees with less than one year of service). With service times ranging from summer hires to employees of thirty-nine years, Visser Brothers wealth of experience and manpower is more than capable of handling any size or type of job you, as the owner, may need done
Diversity
As the Project History and Portfolio section of this information illustrates, Visser Brothers has constructed a wide variety of projects, including Educational, Health Care, Religious and Church, Office, Retail, Restaurant & Hotel, and Industrial & Site Work Facilities. These projects have ranged in size from ten thousand dollars to ten million.
Visser Brothers remains, in actuality, as well as in name, a General Contractor. In addition to managing multiple sub-contracts on each job, we perform a variety of trades in-house, including:
- Excavating and Site Work,
- Underground Utilities,
- Concrete and Foundations,
- Steel Erection,
- Steel Fabrication
- Rough Carpentry,
- Drywall & Acoustical Tile, and
- Finish Carpentry.
By maintaining these trades with our own forces, we stay closer to the day-to-day scheduling issues and opportunities of a job, and are able to respond more readily than if we were subject to others’ work schedules and priority lists (While Visser Brothers does enjoy a high priority on suppliers’ and subcontractors’ lists, due largely to our consistent payment history, even these businesses have scheduling constraints). |
